Garth looked back up at Remus and noticed that his previously intense energy had already been reined in.
Remus now appeared troubled, as if deep in thought, and showed no intention to harm him.
Garth was at first stunned, but then he became overjoyed. He started laughing arrogantly, his laughter echoing across the entire island.
He pointed at Remus. "I thought you were fearless and that you didn't care about anything, but it turns out you can get scared too! It seems like I made the right bet, doesn't it?"
His eyes became bright, and his entire presence was different from before. With his hands clasped behind his back, he stood proudly with his chest out.
