Otis was mildly surprised because, based on his investigation, Remus was supposed to be only at the Divine Realm.

He then regained his composure and said calmly, "You've surprised me, but you're still too weak! Die!"

Otis raised his hand and launched a punch. His fist gathered energy, seemingly absorbing all the air within the Curse. The air focused on the edge of his fist as he aimed an attack of catastrophic proportions at Remus.
