With no other deities interfering, their speed increased, causing the distance between them and Halvor to shrink rapidly.
Halvor could feel them closing in quickly, but he had no choice but to keep running. Part of him wanted to turn back and beg for mercy, but he was worried that even speaking might give them a chance to catch up. So, he stayed silent and continued to run.
Suddenly, a spark lit up in Halvor's eyes.
