When Ribolt heard this, it was instantly frozen in place, its eyes wide open.
With all its skill in flattery, it suddenly didn't know how to explain itself as the question caught it off guard.
Remus continued as he stared at Ribolt, "I gave you many chances before. You could say I was being lenient or that I just hadn't dealt with you yet... But you betrayed me time and again. Did you really think I wouldn't get angry? Or maybe you should think about what happened to those creatures we met in the ocean."
The reason Remus hadn't dealt with Ribolt was because it was still useful. In other words, if Ribolt could stand on Remus' side after they found Voryn, then perhaps it could be forgiven. Yet, it had missed all of its chances.
"It's a misunderstanding, sir!" Ribolt bent its body swiftly and knelt on the ground. "There was a reason for what I said earlier! It wasn't betrayal!"
