Grant was taken aback and momentarily lost for words.
In the whole world's eyes, Halvor's people had always been seen as those oppressed by those of Amez and Silas, a role they had been stuck in for centuries without any change. This was also the reason why Grant was able to reach out to Halvor.
He never would have thought that Halvor would say he wanted to team up with Amez and Silas to take on Darsia together. Grant felt like no normal person would say something like this because it completely defied common sense.
"I really like an old saying from Darsia, money makes the world go round," Halvor continued. "They can benefit from opposing me, but there will also be challenges for them. But if they join forces with me to attack Darsia, there won't be any challenges, just slightly less profit. I'm confident they know what choice to make when comparing the two. "
Grant forced himself to calm down from his shock, looking at Halvor as if he were a monster. "Even with the prospect of gain, do you really think they would ally with you? These are age-old conflicts spanning centuries. How could they possibly team up with you over just a bit of benefit?"
