Francis visibly trembled. Indeed, if he still felt guilt, it wasn't toward the mortals but solely toward the immortals.
Originally, the plan was for Remus to eliminate some dissenting voices, making the Upper Realms more harmonious and aware of potential dangers. Unexpectedly, Remus' strength had grown far beyond imagination, eliminating the immortals swiftly and indiscriminately. Ultimately, this also saved them, allowing them to escape from the Upper Realms.
But as was often the case, things didn' t go as planned. Candace, accompanied by the other demons, stepped in and slaughtered all the immortals. He truly felt like he had wronged them!
"Say something!" Wilda's voice grew increasingly agitated. "You are cruel to your own blood and lacking in compassion toward the people!"
"How can someone so unjust and unkind have the nerve to say they are not wrong? You keep saying that just as a way to comfort yourself. You might be able to fool others, but you can't fool yourself. You're wrong, and you don't deserve to be the Celestial Sovereign!"
