Remus looked around, his eyes showing a hint of surprise.
This sense of awe wasn't derived from grand opulence or bustling prosperity. Instead, it was because of the stark and boundless desolation here.
Dunes rose and fell around him, but he couldn't see any vegetation. The ground was a grayish-white color, as were the dunes. The water was still, as if the whole world was silent.
From time to time, Remus could spot a few small fish that looked particularly strange or ugly. They mostly just drifted in the water and hardly ever swam on their own.
