The sixty-four hand seals significantly improved his rate of reiki growth, more than doubling it.

Although he was left with only six pills, Charlie remained hopeful for another sighting of the aurora. Unfortunately, the warm current from the North Atlantic had caused the temperatures in Northern Europe to rise rapidly, leading to a gradual melt of the snow. Helena informed Charlie that the arrival of the warm Atlantic current signified the end of the prolonged winter.

The end of winter also indicated a halt to the aurora shows in the northern hemisphere. To catch another glimpse of the aurora, he would need to wait until winter returned to the northern hemisphere at the end of the year.
