The Rothschild father and son, Howard and Steve, were filled with contentment as they made their way to the palace, engaged in animated conversation.
The more Howard looked at Steve, the greater his admiration grew. He couldn't help but feel grateful for having such a dutiful and sensible son. And Steve, basking in his father's approval, was naturally in high spirits, eagerly anticipating their move to China and the opportunity to strengthen their bond with Charlie.
Steve believed that going to China would bring him benefits without any drawbacks. Even if he couldn't secure Charlie's support in inheriting the family fortune, he had a good chance of obtaining some favors from him through flattery.
It was a far better prospect than staying in the United States, where he would be constantly suspected, guarded against, and disliked by his grandfather. And so, with their individual thoughts, the father-son relationship returned to the harmonious and cordial state of Steve's childhood.
Upon their arrival at the palace, the royal guards were already lined up on either side of the road within the palace grounds.
