Claire was furious, her eyes red with anger.
She tried to hold back her aggression as she spoke through gritted teeth. "Emily, it's disgusting that you would think I would harm you. I may not be the most capable person, but I've always stayed true to my conscience and never done anything against it.”
Emily rolled her eyes and dismissed Claire's words. "Oh, please. Claire, I tried to help you out by inviting you to join us, but I never expected you to be such a two-faced, dishonest person. You're really disappointing.”
She then turned to Matthew and said sweetly, "Chairman, I'm sorry I couldn't see Claire for who she really is. I thought she would be a good match for you, but it turns out she's not the person I thought she was.”
Matthew was in a difficult situation.
