Mrs. Evans had grown accustomed to starting her day by explaining her husband's condition to him. She would give him an update on the current time and recap recent events, including what had happened the day before.
Samuel's memory had deteriorated so severely that he couldn't even recall events from the past ten years. What had happened each day would be forgotten by the next morning.
But the Lady was taken aback by what she had just heard. Her husband had remembered something from yesterday, the blurry scene he had glimpsed under the moonlight when they arrived at Willow Estates.
Samuel seemed surprised by his own recollection and touched his forehead in confusion.
"Do you remember what happened yesterday?" he asked his wife.
