Zara carried a thick backpack on her back as she returned to the Thorne Family mansion from a trip outside. She’d just negotiated all the terms and conditions with Adrian Peters, the housekeeper sent by her grandfather Lord Banks, and completed the procedures for changing all the shares of the Banks Family Ocean Transportation Group into her name alone.
As she entered the house, everyone came forward to ask where she went as she’d told no one in advance what she was up to. Zara gave an offhanded excuse that she had to go out to take care of something, so she could temporarily stall the true explanation.
Only her brother, Fitz, felt very unsettled. He vaguely felt that his sister Zara must have reached some kind of cooperation with his grandfather. He immediately returned to his room and called Lord Banks.
As soon as the phone was connected he couldn’t restrain his questions, "Grandpa. Have you settled with Zara?"
