Peter Roger had never encountered anyone quite like Charlie, who displayed such boldness while caught in a perilous situation. Initially, he felt a twinge of discomfort.
He couldn't help but frown and coldly stated, "I am a CIA agent and the head of this investigation. Since you're in our vehicle, you must comply with our arrangements! Do you think this is your living room where you can choose any seat you like?!"
Charlie impatiently replied, "I want to sit in the back row. What will you do about it? Kill me? Don't forget that even if you are a CIA agent, you have no law enforcement authority in Japan. If you dare to lay a finger on me here, I‘ll end you on the spot!"
He continued, "Oh, by the way, I should remind you that l'm not American, l'm Chinese! As a CIA agent on Japanese soil, you hold no sway over me. To put it bluntly, you mean nothing to me!"
Peter was taken aback by the serious expression on Charlie's face, he wasn't joking at all.
