Zara had no idea of the thoughts in her mother’s heart, she only felt a longing excitement and hopeful expectations for her future.
Her own thoughts were a tangled mess of her feelings, ‘The United States pushes these ideas of superheroes, something that we all want to experience and is exceedingly rare.’
‘I’ve found my own genuine superhero and he’s saved me from so much already… my heart is already his. My mother, brother, and even my half sister were saved by him!’ She sighed internally as her thoughts coalesced, ‘...With all I have been through, and then being continuously saved from it by him...I just don’t understand his intentions towards me, or if he’s even single.’
Her thoughts left her feeling confused. Zara wanted to ask Charlie about it, but she felt her voice give out.
Charlie broke the silence. He turned to Deana and spoke with respect, “Auntie Deana, I’m sorry for keeping you both confined like I have and not allowing you to reach the outside world.”
