"It's fine. He's just a kid!" Jared said quickly, giving the child's head a reassuring pat.
What Jared didn't realize was that this "kid" was already operating at a much higher cultivation level than he was. The boy had the immortal's bone. And true to the old saying, some were simply born luckier than others.
Flaxseed wandered over, curiosity piqued, and gently tapped the tiny horns protruding from the child's forehead.

Jared gave Flaxseed a warning glance, and Flaxseed quickly shut his mouth, thankfully stopping short of saying what he really meant.
