Jared knew Vasker would never be willing to return to the far north and live in hardship now that the latter was rich. He even had to face punishment once he went back, which would all the more contribute to his reluctance to comply. Besides, Jared reckoned Vasker had chosen to stay in Jipsdale because no one could take him away by force as long as he refused to leave.

“If he refuses, I will still drag him away even if I have to risk my life in the process. He has committed such a disgraceful act that put my entire family to shame. I won’t let him off easily.” Vasily was furious, determined to take Vasily away.

Taking in Vasily’s demeanor, Jared sighed. “In that case, I should tag along. Perhaps with me there, it’ll be easier for you to take your brother away.”
