Jared had already sensed the girl’s serious injuries. She was merely pretending to be strong.

As soon as Jared said that, the girl paled and spewed a fountain of fresh blood before falling backward.

Instantly, Jared caught her in his arms and channeled his spiritual energy into her body. It took a moment before the girl slowly opened her eyes and found herself lying in Jared’s embrace. She quickly got up, pulling away from him.
