Colin approached Jared. Like a know-it-all,

Colin explained, “This white wolf must be as big as an ox thanks to the influence of giant dragons on this island. I heard that there are two dragons on this island that are covered in magical items. Any beasts living with these dragons on the island must have evolved to challenge their biological limits and become fearsome monsters.”

He hoped that his knowledge would improve his relationship with Jared, which would considerably aid his pursuit of Renee.

Jared merely eyed Colin silently, dashing the latter’s hopes.

Just then, the white wolf let out a growl and charged at its suit-clad opponent after observing the latter’s momentary distraction.
