Hefe gave Jared a look of anticipation because it was obvious to him that Jared was the leader among the four.
“All right, I'll let you join us. In the event of danger, I hope that we'll be able to help each other out,” Jared said to Hefe.
Jared's agreement made Hefe smile. His eyes began to fill with determination and trust for the group. Everyone else seemed oblivious to the newly formed alliance as they continued deeper into the mountains.
