“Hurry up and wake up, Jared! Please be safe!” Emily held the jade pendant Jared once gifted her in her hand, her eyes brimming with hope.
She hoped that the man would regain consciousness soon. If he failed to pull through, she would be forever haunted by guilt since he was the one who saved her.
As she was clutching the jade pendant and praying for him to wake up the Power of Dragons and Phoenixes he sealed in the jade pendant drifted out and entered his body. The Power of Dragons and Phoenixes gave his crumbling body a shred of energy, and Jared slowly opened his eyes.
“Where am I?”
When he did so, he found his mind all fuzzy and his limbs weak. He wanted to sit up, but the instant he exerted force, excruciating pain coursed through his entire body. There was no energy left in his body, and his limbs seemingly refused to obey his wishes.
