They charged ahead without hesitation, and the hundreds of people who joined the battle tilted the balance of victory in the humans' favor. In response, the demon beasts retreated and dwindled in numbers.
In the end, the beasts turned and fled, but the humans decided against chasing after them. That was because it was highly plausible for high-level demon beasts to be lurking in the mountain since humans had never once hunted demon beasts in this mountain.
