“It’s funny how you’re still so worried about your son, David! He has long abandoned you and ran off. I think he’s probably long gone by now!” someone shouted among the spectating crowd.

Only then did David realize that Skylar had already fled. Jared just found out as well.

All this time, Jared had been focusing on David, and he did not pay much attention to Skylar. He never thought that the latter would scurry off.
