Tiffany knew that he was doing this on purpose. She got up and grabbed her handbag. “Take me home now, then. It’s past nine. I have to go home early and get some sleep."
He downed another glass of red wine right in front of her. “So sorry, I almost forgot. I’ve been drinking. I can’t drive. You’ve been drinking too."
Tiffany was shocked. “You didn’t... plan this, did you? You knew you had to drive and you still drank? Well... What do I do now?”
Jackson shrugged. “I didn’t drink much. I’ll be able to drive later at night. Just wait a while. I cooked the food, so you wash the dishes and clean the kitchen. I’m going to take a shower.”
As she watched him walk upstairs, Tiffany couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right, but she simply couldn’t figure it out. She washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen for him. It would take a good few hours for her to sober up. Wouldn’t it be tedious if she arrived home in the wee hours of the morning? Calling a designated driver seemed more appropriate to her. When she went upstairs to speak to Jackson, she realized that he was still in the shower. He was dawdling in the bathroom.
