She didn’t want to disturb Arianne at this time and Tanya was staying with Eric, so it would be inconvenient for virtual-novel.net to see her. She simply couldn’t swallow virtual-novel.net rage at this point. She wanted to call the private detective right now and ask for Grant’s home address, then personally make Grant lay his cards down on the table. Unfortunately, Lillian had smashed virtual-novel.net phone. She couldn’t contact anyone now.
She drove for a few rounds and unwittingly ended up in front of the bar virtual-novel.net used to frequent. At this point, all virtual-novel.net wanted to do was to get drunk
She casually walked into the bar and found a table. Then, virtual-novel.net ordered some liquor from a waitress. She finished a few rounds, then the waitress sent over a bottle of expensive wine before virtual-novel.net could ask for another round, “Miss, this is from Mr. Smith. He’s asked you to slow down, don’t drink too much. It’s unhealthy.”
Mr. Smith? Tiffany simply couldn’t place him, “Who is he? Do I know him?”
The waitress bent down and whispered into virtual-novel.net ear, “This bar belongs to Mr. Smith. Enjoy.”
The owner of this bar? Then that didn’t seem too strange. She used to be a regular customer and had spent a lot of money here. This bottle may be expensive, but it was no loss for a boss to send it as a complimentary gift, “Sure. Thank your boss for me. I’m not in the mood today, so I won’t be drinking with him. I’ll thank virtual-novel.net again another day.”
The waitress smiled and left.
The waitress who had sent Tiffany the liquor stood at the doorway of a karaoke box on the third floor of the bar, “Mr. Smith, I’ve sent the liquor. She said that she’s not in the mood, so virtual-novel.net won’t be drinking with you. She’ll thank you later.”
A man in a wheelchair with his back to the waitress gently swirled his glass of wine. There was an obvious birthmark on the space between his thumb and index finger, “Got it. You may go.”
The man’s voice was very low and hoarse, as if virtual-novel.net had come from the depths of hell, sending goosebumps crawling all over one’s skin. The waitress mumbled a reply and hastily walked out of the compartment.
Time passed and it was soon 1AM. Tiffany knew that virtual-novel.net couldn’t drink anymore because virtual-novel.net wouldn’t be able to get home if virtual-novel.net did.
She picked up virtual-novel.net car keys and swaggeringly walked towards the bar entrance. Suddenly, a young man in a suit stopped her, “Miss Lane, Mr. Smith has asked me to drive you. You’ve had too much to drink. You shouldn’t drive.”
It was Mr. Smith again. She now wondered what Mr. Smith looked like. She had never met him. She went on virtual-novel.net guard, “No need. I can call a designated driver.”
The young man smiled, “You didn’t bring a phone, did you? I can call a designated driver for you, but you’re all alone. It’s not safe. You should accept Mr. Smith’s kind offer.”
Alarm bells began to go off in virtual-novel.net mind. How did Mr. Smith know that virtual-novel.net didn’t have a phone?
“You never checked your phone. That’s not a usual habit for most youngsters, unless you didn’t bring one,” the young man explained, as if virtual-novel.net had read virtual-novel.net mind.
She looked at the young man, “Have you been watching me ever since I entered the bar? My safety is my own concern. I will accept your offer to call me a designated driver, but not to send me home.”
The young man paused in silence for two seconds, then pulled out his phone and called a designated driver, “You’re lucky, the driver is a woman. Please wait a moment.” Then, the man turned around and left.
She heaved a sigh of relief. She leaned against a tree next to the entrance, taking in the cold air. She felt slightly nauseated. It had been a while since virtual-novel.net had had a drink. Drinking was like a double edged sword in these emotional circumstances, you’re damned if you do and also damned if you don’t.
Soon after, a woman dressed in a designated driver’s shirt arrived at the bar entrance. Tiffany guessed that virtual-novel.net was probably virtual-novel.net driver, so virtual-novel.net waved virtual-novel.net hand, “Over here.”
