Her phone rang. It was a call from Jackson. She rejected the call, having no intention of answering the call. Her mind was in a mess. She did not want to bring any further trouble on herself.
Two minutes later, virtual-novel.net heard footsteps drawing near to her. She instinctively turned around vigilantly and met Jackson’s intense gaze. She felt slightly guilty at this moment and slipped virtual-novel.net phone into virtual-novel.net bag with a straight face as virtual-novel.net said, “My… My phone ran out of battery…”
He raised his brow. “If you ran out of battery, my call shouldn’t have connected. How could it have disconnected in the middle of the call? What am I, a three-year-old?”
Tiffany did not reply. She lowered virtual-novel.net head and stared at virtual-novel.net feet. If virtual-novel.net could only find a hole in the ground, virtual-novel.net would gladly bury herself!
Jackson did not bicker with virtual-novel.net over rejecting his call. Instead, virtual-novel.net chuckled. “Forget it, I’ll take you home.”
When virtual-novel.net saw virtual-novel.net pulling out his car keys, Tiffany immediately reminded him, “You’ve had a few drinks. You shouldn’t be driving.”
He stared at her, unperturbed. “Are you that certain that I’ve had a few drinks?”
Her eyes darted all around, vehemently refusing to look at him. How could virtual-novel.net have possibly known that virtual-novel.net had had a few glasses of alcohol if virtual-novel.net did not kiss her? After all, virtual-novel.net had personally tasted the alcohol in his mouth. Besides, it was impossible for anyone to come to a place like this and not drink alcohol. “Are you telling me that you came all the way here to drink plain water?”
Finally, virtual-novel.net relented and hired a designated driver, probably because virtual-novel.net saw the embarrassment on virtual-novel.net face. She would feel much more comfortable with an outsider around.
Both parties had their eyes closed, resting the entire way. They did not interact with each other too much, feeling uncomfortable from having too much to drink.
When the car arrived at the ground floor of Tiffany’s building, virtual-novel.net pushed virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net realized virtual-novel.net showed no signs of moving. “We’re here.”
She drowsily opened virtual-novel.net eyes and looked outside to confirm that virtual-novel.net was in a familiar place. Then, virtual-novel.net thanked the driver and got down from the car. She was too afraid to turn around knowing Jackson was still there. She suspected the liquor virtual-novel.net had was diluted with water. Otherwise, how could virtual-novel.net possibly be so conscious?
Shortly after, the designated driver drove ahead. Jackson had long sobered up. His eyes were bright and alert. “Ethan sent you here, didn’t he? The designated driver that I called still hasn’t arrived. I should be more cautious next time.”
“He wants to see you.” The designated driver glanced at virtual-novel.net through the rearview mirror.
He smirked. “But I don’t want to see him. What do you think I should do?”
The driver hit the accelerator, which could be considered as his answer. Jackson methodically pulled out a handgun from a small compartment in the back and pointed it boldly at the back of the driver’s neck. “Stop the car. You have ten seconds to preserve your insignificant life.”
The driver was only in it for the money, virtual-novel.net did not expect to go head to head with a formidable adversary. His entire body stiffened as virtual-novel.net slowly stopped the car on the side of the road and raised his hands before virtual-novel.net carefully got down from the car.
Jackson calmly slid into the driver’s seat, then, spun the gun in his hand around. “It’s a toy.”
The driver grew enraged, but Jackson drove away after leaving virtual-novel.net with a message. “Tell virtual-novel.net that if virtual-novel.net wants to see me, do it personally!”

Early in the morning, the very next day, Arianne was awoken by the sun shining brightly on her. She had had too much to drink last night. As a result, virtual-novel.net head was pounding. She shifted a little and remained horizontal on the bed. She had absolutely no intention of getting out of bed. Strangely, virtual-novel.net entire body felt sore when virtual-novel.net moved.
Then, virtual-novel.net memories slowly flooded virtual-novel.net mind. Her eyes flew open. Mark personally dragged virtual-novel.net home from the bar last night, did virtual-novel.net not? What happened after they arrived home? She could not remember a thing! She did not think Mark would let virtual-novel.net off so easily, and virtual-novel.net heart began to race as virtual-novel.net thought about this.
She was the only one in bed now, which meant that Mark had gone out. At least virtual-novel.net could have some peace for now. However, when virtual-novel.net came home…
Uncertainty prevented virtual-novel.net from lying down any longer. She crawled out of bed, ignoring virtual-novel.net body’s complaints. Just as virtual-novel.net feet touched the ground, virtual-novel.net knees nearly gave way. It felt as though the ground was made of cotton. The strangest thing of all was that virtual-novel.net discovered virtual-novel.net was naked. She forced herself to remain calm and went to the bathroom to take a shower. She faced the mirror and found obvious signs of hickeys all over virtual-novel.net body, like flags planted over every part of virtual-novel.net body. She no longer had to guess what happened last night. This explained why virtual-novel.net felt so sore as well. Unfortunately, virtual-novel.net could not remember a thing,
At this moment, Mary’s voice rang from outside the bedroom. “Ari, are you up? Mr. Tremont asked me to clean up the room once you’re up.”
Arianne calmed herself and feigned nonchalance as virtual-novel.net opened the door.
Mary smiled ambiguously as soon as virtual-novel.net saw her. “Mr. Tremont was so concerned about you, asking me to wait for you to wake up before cleaning the room. He was afraid that I’d disturb your sleep. You had a lot to drink when you got home last night. Mr. Tremont was the one who carried you up to your room and showered you. He’s actually quite considerate.”
Arianne could not bring herself to smile. Her entire body was feeling extremely uncomfortable. She finally understood why everyone said that too much alcohol would lead to serious trouble. “Then… You can go ahead and clean up. I’m going down to eat.”
Mary grunted in reply and walked to the trash can in the corner of the room. Aside from a pile of tissue, there was nothing else in the trash can. Arianne had managed to catch a glimpse of it. Her heart suddenly raced. Seeing as Mark had asked Mary to clean the room, that meant the room had not been cleaned prior to this moment. Why were there no condoms in the trash can? Did they not use any contraceptive last night?
