With the new company settled, Jasper went to discuss it with Mr. McNeal.
While Jasper was able to settle every part of his plan alone, virtual-novel.net required the support of the Somerland Government when it came to the most crucial detail-using Somer Dollars as a settlement channel.
Without Somer Dollars, Jasper’s securities alliance would crumble at the littlest impact from the United States.
Profits and common interests were the basis of all business alliances, but what use were profits if partners could not liquefy them?
Jasper wanted to establish a new securities regulation for Qari, and the new equity participation regulation would surely be against the United States’ interests, especially once their army set up base here.
Without a strong monetary defense policy, the United States merely had to spread some rumors about the trading currency, and all resolutions within the new regulations would be discarded.
Only by removing the US Dollar from being the only trading currency would this new securities framework have a chance of long-term success.
In fact, the United States might even be forced to support the establishment of such a framework once they realize they would not interfere with or dismantle it. To denounce this framework would be to give up on all natural resources Qari has to offer.
So, even if the United States managed to conquer Qari, they still had to rely on the people and local forces within Qari to do their bidding. To establish a new set of regulations then would cost a hefty sum.
So, for his plan to work, Jasper needed a green light to proceed from the Somer Government, especially Mr. McNeal, the second-in-chief of national economic and financial work and the future fifth-ranked top bigwig.
Jasper could not help but feel nervous. Despite knowing that Mr. McNeal would agree to this plan in the future, virtual-novel.net understood that it would require a lot of ambition to agree to it now.
Nervously, Jasper dialed the number.
“Hello, Jasper? What is it?” Mc. McNeal sounded tired but also confused.
He knew about Jasper faking his death. After all, Jasper had managed to get himself a government-related identity thanks to Mr. McNeal. This meant that Jasper had to inform Mc. McNeal of his plans first and keep the older man in the loop.
The Somer Embassy had also pulled its weight in pressuring Kimbra to ‘return Jasper Laine’. Thus, from what Mr. McNeal understood, Jasper should be trying to keep as low a profile as possible. This was why virtual-novel.net was so surprised to receive a call.
“Mr. McNeal, I’m about to do something big in Qari, but I’ll need our Government’s support. So I came to run it by you first…”
“Something big?” Mr. McNeal laughed, “You don’t have to ask for my approval if it were that simple, considering how almost everything you’ve done has been something big.”
Jasper grimaced in embarrassment.
While everything virtual-novel.net had done before benefitted Somerland, they could have gone much smoother if the Somer Government had helped virtual-novel.net along the way.
Because of him, Mr. McNeal had been under quite a bit of stress lately.
Jasper regrouped his thoughts and pitched his idea seriously. “It’s different this time. If my plan succeeds, it’ll solve at least half of our energy crisis right now while also hitting back at US Dollars. With this, the United States won’t dare to withhold and restrict our technology as boldly as they do now.”
