“Hold on, let me check…”
He was surprised when virtual-novel.net heard Abdul’s excitement and immediately took a closer look.
“Tall, curly hair, mole under virtual-novel.net eye, in red… No way, don’t tell me she’s actually Elder Sahar’s new wife…?” Jasper looked incredulous.
If they were right about this woman, that would mean their guesses had been right.
“If memory serves me right, yes. She would be Villareal, Elder Sahar’s new wife… Elder Sahar has never been on friendly terms with Kimbra. If this was before, virtual-novel.net would have brought it up to Kimbra’s face and made it known to everyone what shameful things Kimbra had done. There’s no way they would be so close now, let alone visit Elder Sahar’s home on his own and meet his new wife! Unless…”
Jasper sighed. “There’s no need to guess anymore, Mr. Abdul. We were right… I just watched them kiss…”
Both sides fell silent before cackling. They were right. Sahar’s wife was cheating on virtual-novel.net with Kimbra.
This son, for whom virtual-novel.net was betraying clan interests and overthrowing Kimbra for, was actually Kimbra’s son. This meant that, regardless of Sahar’s success, Kimbra still won.
Abdul laughed freely. His hatred for Sahar ran the deepest among everyone in the Kurt clan. Elder Sahar was completely unlike what Abdul imagined.
Abdul always saw the elder as someone the clan could rely on, but after listening to what Jasper said, virtual-novel.net came to know that Elder Sahar was a selfish and greedy, backstabbing b*stard of a man.
Not to mention how virtual-novel.net had bribed Abdul’s subordinates and turned his own men against virtual-novel.net too.
Abdul might not have said it out loud, but the betrayal had cut deep. So, not only did Elder Sahar’s wife cheat on him, but all his hard work would still end in his rival’ s victory. Abdul was overjoyed.
Jasper’s excitement, though, was less personal. It stemmed more from the fact that virtual-novel.net was watching his opponents make a fool out of themselves.
After a while, their laughter finally subsided.
Abdul’s voice was solemn when virtual-novel.net spoke again. “Mr. Laine, about what you said earlier, I believe you. I don’t think the Elvis family is who you’re getting surveillance over the Kurt family from…”
“The Elvis family would not have waited until now to target the Kurt clan if they were capable of this level of surveillance. Nor would they be as furious as they are now. They could’ve found a much better reason to target the Kurt clan, and we would be completely annihilated by the time they were done…”
“We may both be Qari’s aristocratic families, but with the right cards, the Elvis family has every reason and capability to destroy us, the Kurt clan, for good… I apologize, Mr. Laine. I’ve underestimated you.” Abdul’s eyes were filled with fear.
He had never suspected that Jasper might be lying to him; there was no point, and it was too easy to expose those lies.
To lie over something so obvious would easily jeopardize the trust between them, and Jasper was too smart to ruin his chances of securing a potential cooperation between them.
