“You don’t have to worry about that, Rowan… Just watch… I’ll give Mr. McNeal a call later to talk about this,” Jasper reminded Rowan.
“Oh right, we have to tell Mr. McNeal first. But… Would virtual-novel.net agree, though? Because once virtual-novel.net does, we’d be facing the United States head-on right away…”
“We’ve always been quiet when it came to conflicts with them before, and now we’re going straight after US Dollar settlements. We’re practically going straight for their jugular!”
Jasper gave it some thought before confirming, “He’ll agree. This will benefit Somerland for generations to come. I believe that they’ve got the courage.”
After all, that was what they did back then.
“So, what do I have to do, then?” Rowan’s eyes flashed with excitement. He could tell that they were about to write history.
Jasper smiled. “There’s no rush. The payment and settlement channels are matters for later. If we want to do securities, we need more companies working with us. We only have a couple of them right now, and that’s not enough.”
“Yeah…” Rowan sighed.
Reality was rarely as benevolent as one hoped it to be. Their securities business right now was in a sorry state.
The only companies working with them were their own, as well as a few others who were in close relationships with them. The securities company mainly served as an intermediary for the major exchange centers.
“So, this is where you shine. I need you to source some company shares. That’ll be our first profit in our securities business.”
“Huh? Me?” Rowan looked up in shock.
He thought that because virtual-novel.net was still on probation, virtual-novel.net would just be following around and assisting companies, not leading a project alone. Especially after Jasper had doused out his excitement about focusing on the securities business.
Now, Jasper had told virtual-novel.net to lead the negotiations and buy shares to start their securities business. This meant that Jasper was intending to let Rowan take the reins.
He was exhilarated but also nervous. “Are you sure I’m fit for the job, Jasper?”
Jasper clapped virtual-novel.net on the shoulder. “Don’t doubt yourself. It’s only a matter of time before you take the reins over this whole business. This is only the first step…”
“I cannot stay in Qari forever, and I’ll be leaving all of this in your hands when I go. It’s only a matter of time. Not to forget that the rest of us are too recognizable. And we still have to pretend that something happened to us to stress Kimbra out…”
“You, however, since you’ve never shown yourself with me before, you shouldn’t garner too much attention.”
“Hmm…” Rowan nodded.
The way Jasper explained it seemed like virtual-novel.net was the only person who could carry out this mission.
Suddenly, Rowan seemed to have thought of something, and virtual-novel.net looked rather uncomfortable. “But Jasper, I think my identity was exposed before. That time when I cross-dressed, I think…”
Jasper chuckled, amused by his concerns. “Like you said, you were cross-dressing last time. No one will recognize you, don’t worry. I’ll have Julian and Brock send someone to protect you as well. If anything goes south, they’ll get you out of there. You’ll be alright.”
