Hearing this, Jasper was silent.
As virtual-novel.net moved the surveillance camera Snow had given virtual-novel.net access to, Jasper said, “Mr. Abdul, before we continue, there’s something I need to confirm with you first…”
“Among your subordinates, was there an Alimu? Dull skin, a bit of white in his beard?”
Abdul replied honestly, “Yes… Alimu is one of the best subordinates I have. He’s followed me for years. I would’ve been caught long ago if not for virtual-novel.net and his intel. But news was leaked, and the guards found us. That was when I lost contact with him. I only pray that virtual-novel.net is safe. May God protect him…”
Jasper frowned and grimaced. “As you wish, Mr. Abdul, Alimu is safe and well. But not the way you think… He’s currently chatting away very happily with Elder Sahar in his residence.”
Jasper’s surveillance camera was pointed right at what was happening in Elder Sahar’s house.
Inside sat the ‘ever so loyal’ Alimu, his arms around ladies, as virtual-novel.net chatted away happily. Sitting in front of Alimu was none other than Elder Sahar.
Anyone could tell that Alimu was being treated like an esteemed guest. There were no signs of the fear or embarrassment that one would expect from fleeing for your life.
Abdul roared. “Impossible! Alimu and I have risked our lives for each other! I saved his life. He would never betray me!”
Jasper continued calmly, “I know that this is a difficult pill to swallow, Mr. Abdul. Correct me if I’m wrong, but after what happened to Baltimore, you must have strengthened your defenses and guards to protect you from Kimbra, right?”
“In that case, how could Elder Sahar possibly have succeeded so easily? Not even Kimbra, who’s been wary of Elder Sahar since the beginning, realized anything was amiss. You cannot lie to yourself, Mr. Adbul. This is your safety at risk. I’m sure you already have an answer…”
Abdul was silent. He could see Jasper was right.
Elder Sahar’s influence may have permeated the clan, but not as much as Kimbra’s. After all, the latter was still the clan head. However, Sahar had somehow managed to exceed all expectations, and Kimbra had no idea what happened before or after virtual-novel.net lost.
There was only one possibility, a mole. Only then could Sahar have framed Abdul with an indisputable crime before Kimbra realized what was happening and sent his guards after Abdul.
There was no doubt about who the mole was now.
“F*ck you, Alimu! How dare virtual-novel.net betray me?! After everything, I trusted virtual-novel.net with my life! And virtual-novel.net betrayed me!”
Abdul was really angry.
How can anyone stay calm when the person you trusted the most during your tough times betrays you?
Surprisingly, Abdul never questioned the validity of Jasper’s intelligence. This was what separated virtual-novel.net from the others.
“Before you express your anger, Mr. Abdul, we must do a few other things. If Alimu’s been compromised, we must assume that your other subordinates might also be compromised as well… Can you confirm if anyone else knows where you are?”
Abdul looked embarrassed. “They shouldn’t, but I was too excited when I got your call, so I told one of them where I was a minute ago. But none of them know that we’re in contact. I can assure you of that.”
