Jasper smiled when virtual-novel.net saw the pitiful expression on Kimbra’s face.
There was nothing better than watching your enemy struggle and suffer.
“Looks like the Kurt family is going through it, hmm? Different forces have already started getting involved, everyone wants to lead the family,” Celine said openly.
She could not forget how Kimbra had almost gotten his way with virtual-novel.net and Elibetha at the bar that day. Not even death could make virtual-novel.net forgive him.
“Kimbra can’t silence his family anymore, virtual-novel.net has nothing to silence them with! This is our chance, Jasper! Their defenses will weaken, we might actually be able to attack them!” Rowan looked extremely excited.
He could already imagine how cool it would look to barge into the Kurt Manor with guns blazing.
Yet, Julian shook his head and disagreed. “On the contrary, Mr. Jefferson, I think the Kurts would reinforce their security instead after this. And it won’t just be their own soldiers, they’ll be getting help from other nations as well.”
“Huh? Why, though?” Rowan did not understand.
“Because he’s not trying, or rather, there’s no way to hide the fact that they’re going through internal strife.”
“Those international groups who’ve gotten in touch with the other members of the Kurt family might not believe that Kimbra would fight back, but Kimbra also has a history of doing things outside the book and claiming power through physical means.”
“If anyone is afraid that Kimbra would start killing people who opposed him, it’d be them,” Jasper explained.
Every discussion they had was an additional lesson in Rowan’s growth.
Jasper would not leave until Rowan was able to hold the fort here in Qari.
“What the Hell! That snake, Owen! He had you come and deal with Kimbra while virtual-novel.net secretly goes and sends someone to support one of the Kurts as the new leader… How are you going to get the Kurts to do your bidding like this?” Celine was surprisingly furious.
She had attended the ‘Qari cake-sharing conference’ with Jasper that day, and virtual-novel.net had not forgotten how aggressive Owen was toward Jasper.
She felt angry on his behalf, even though Jasper seemed unfazed.
“It’s only natural. I’d be more worried if virtual-novel.net didn’t do anything at all. Instead of blaming Owen and focusing on the trouble they’re causing, why not think about how we can use what we’ve just learned and sneak into the Kurt Manor?”
With that, everyone began to brainstorm.
Suddenly, an idea flashed through Jasper’s mind.
He was about to share it with everyone when virtual-novel.net caught sight of Edward’s bored expression, and a new idea came to mind.
“Do you want to go home, Snow?” Jasper asked out of the blue.
Edward blinked in surprise. After some thought, virtual-novel.net offered a wry smile. “I always do. I want to lie down in my bed, where it’s soft and comfortable and I don’t have to do anything. I don’t want to stay here anymore, I want to go home.”
Then, as if virtual-novel.net realized what was said, Edward perked up in excitement. “Why’re you asking, Jasper? Are you sending me home? I get to go home for real?”
