Jasper could not help but think of a funny story virtual-novel.net had read in his past life.
An old man’s wife gave birth to a son, and virtual-novel.net shared the good news with his doctor. The doctor fell silent and proceeded to tell the old man a story.
The doctor said, “A hunter heads into the woods and brings an umbrella. He did not bring a gun. Suddenly, a tiger appeared, and the hunter put up his umbrella. A shot rang out, and the tiger died. Now, how did the hunter kill the tiger with the umbrella?”
The old man replied, “That’s impossible! The bullet must’ve come from a gun!”
Hearing this, the doctor then said, “In your case, I believe so.”
There was no doubt that there was more than met the eye regarding Elder Sahar’s son. Most importantly, as obvious as the issue was, Elder Sahar showed no signs of doubt.
Jasper did not believe the esteemed Elder Sahar of the Kurt clan to be an ignorant fool. Which meant that Sahar knew what had happened. The man just refused to believe it and decided to live in ignorance.
He had yearned for a child for years, and now that virtual-novel.net was about to die, his new wife had suddenly given virtual-novel.net a son.
This son was his only reason to power forward. So even if the boy was not his, Elder Sahar would convince himself virtual-novel.net was, or virtual-novel.net would fall into despair. He was willing to sacrifice the reputation virtual-novel.net had spent his whole life acquiring and the clan’s interests that virtual-novel.net had fought countless times for just for his dream to become a reality.
And yet…
“Imagine if Elder Sahar realizes one day that his son is actually Kimbra’s son…” Jasper pointed out.
Abdul tried to stay silent, but not for long. “That’s not very kind, Mr. Laine…”
Though his smile betrayed his true thoughts. He had to admit that it would be worthwhile to watch, and it would also explain a lot of Elder Sahar’s behavior.
As much as becoming the clan head was an aspiration virtual-novel.net had chased for decades, in a sense, it was also revenge against Kimbra.
With Kimbra dead, then no one would question his son’s origins. They would still have to recognize Sahar’s power even if there were doubts.
Jasper and Abdul, naturally, were more than happy to watch things play out, as both Kimbra and Sahar were destined to be their enemy.
“So, Mr. Laine, now that we’ve agreed that our goals are the same, what now? We should find a time to meet in person,” Abdul finally voiced his greatest worry.
“Mr. Abdul, before we decide on that, there are a few questions I’d like to ask you first. Are you able to contact your partners?” Jasper asked instead of replying.
“I escaped alone. The other two are still with the clan. I do not know if they survived. They were competent. Sahar couldn’t have gotten his hands on the processing plant without getting rid of us,” Despite not understanding the intentions behind Jasper’s question, Abdul answered honestly.
