Watching Matthew reach for his other shoulder with his free hand, Reuben trembled uncontrollably in fright, his face full of desperate pleading.
"If begging worked, what would they need you for?" Matthew's hand gripped Reuben's other shoulder, applying just enough pressure.
Reuben's eyes rolled back as he passed out from the excruciating pain.
Matthew stood up and calmly addressed the Island Watch soldiers gathered nearby. "If any of you have objections or feel dissatisfied, come forward. If you defeat me, I'm yours to deal with. If not, go back where you came from."
With a swift kick, Matthew sent Reuben's limp body flying toward the soldiers, who scrambled to catch him, their faces pale as they looked at the remaining squad captains for guidance.
