Isabelle lifted her gaze to him, her expression silently questioning why he was suddenly telling her all this.
George began to explain, “I envy them because they mean something different to you. They know you better than I do. I have no other way to get to know you, so I tried to let you know me. But it seems I did something foolish because I don’t even know whether you’re interested in getting to know me.”
The frustration from Yves’s earlier remarks, combined with the illness, had George unable to suppress his emotions. In a heated moment, he disregarded whether it was the right time or not.
Isabelle’s lips curved into a faint smile, so slight it was almost nonexistent.
The smile wasn’t for any particular reason, she just found it amusing how this businessman could speak so spoke more vaguely, she wouldn’t have understood his meaning at all.
