Arthur, even if he were silver-tongued, couldn't possibly deny what had happened, nor could he provide any evidence.
There were many people around, no surveillance, and it was under the cover of night. Now, he was holding the ring, which even had his fingerprints on it. There was no way he could talk his way out of this.
Finley relaxed, looking directly into Arthur's eyes with solemnity, "Arthur, I didn't want to be so blunt, but since you insist on asking, I must speak plainly."
Finley seemed to make a big decision as he continued, "My ring vanished without a trace, yet it appeared in your pocket. It's obvious. you stole my ring!"
Towards the end, Finley could barely contain himself, his tone serious and assertive. He sounded like a judge rushing to convict Arthur. As his words ended, a wave of agreement swept through the audience below.
