Finley's face was grim, and he didn't even care about offending Hugo. His words were squeezed through clenched teeth.
"Mr. Hugo, I don't mean to embarrass you, but I must get that ring back!" Finley looked at Arthur with sheer hostility, as if Arthur was physically holding his ring, ready to snatch it away.
And Hugo seemed like an accomplice to Arthur. This notion visibly darkened Hugo's face. He wanted to retort, he wanted to scold Finley, but with everyone watching, and Finley's ring found in Arthur's pocket, he needed to give an explanation to the crowd.
He moved his lips but found himself at a loss for words.
Just then, Arthur spoke up. He raised the ring in his hand, casually asking, "Finley, are you sure I'm the one who stole this ring?"
