The desolate surroundings stretched in every direction, barren and lifeless. As they scanned the empty landscape, an overwhelming sense of despair settled over them.
The world was vast, yet at this moment, there was no place for them. Hopelessness consumed them. Tears welled in their eyes and spilled over, unbidden and uncontrollable.
