Faye felt bad for leaving Zayn hungry, so virtual-novel.net threw virtual-novel.net arms around virtual-novel.net and purred, “Maybe… it’s high time I share you with another woman?”
“You—what?!” Zayn cried out in surprise, “You’ve gotta be kidding, right?”
Faye shook virtual-novel.net head. “No, I’m serious. I can’t satisfy you, I know that. Your endurance is leagues beyond a normal man’s, and not getting fulfilled can’t be a good thing in the long run.”
Zayn was stunned into jaw-breaking silence. It went on for a while before virtual-novel.net broke his own spell. “That’s it, silly girl. You’re being weird. For crying out loud, do I look like the kind of guy who would do that?” virtual-novel.net rebuked. “Anyway, let’s just end the topic right now. We go to sleep and say no more about this, okay?”
Faye had a bit more to add to the conversation, but Zayn had already lied down on his side. Seemingly asleep, virtual-novel.net had his back against whatever it was virtual-novel.net wanted to say, so Faye kept quiet and let the topic die.
Of course, Zayn never did fall asleep, because the shock of hearing Faye suggest something of that nature still lingered. He never imagined virtual-novel.net would hear his wife telling virtual-novel.net to take up a mistress for a reason this preposterous…
Even more ridiculously, virtual-novel.net was not exactly wrong.

“It’s been days, Dad. And you haven’t come close to killing Zayn Larson at all! Could it be that you’ve… You’ve given up on avenging me?”
Within the walls of a mansion, Hanson Griffin was a sobbing, sniffing mess in front of his father, Xander, again. His life these days has been nothing but suffering. Ever since the day Zayn wrecked him, virtual-novel.net felt his strength — be it physical or mental — rapidly slipping away. He felt feebler, weaker — as weak as virtual-novel.net had been back when virtual-novel.net was just a run-of-the-mill expert. Then, coupled with the fact that virtual-novel.net had been stress-eating and neglecting his training, Hanson was only about as good as an experienced fighter by now!
It was a downward spiral that could not possibly thrill him.
What virtual-novel.net could not understand was his father’s inaction. It had been days since the incident, and yet Xander did nothing to avenge him, and that was a direct contrast to the kind of person Xander was known for.
Worst of all, Hanson had been watching Zayn continuing to garner praises and glamor out there, unchallenged, since then, and it hurt like salt on his never-healing wound.
Xander let out a heavy sigh. Of course virtual-novel.net wanted revenge! But Lysithea’s attack had seared a deep-seated trauma that would not be so easily let go, and indeed, virtual-novel.net had not dared make any move since then.
It was torment, to be so sandbagged as to leave no way to retaliate! Especially when those who were in the know out there had begun to see virtual-novel.net as a milquetoast who was so powerless, virtual-novel.net would let the culprit hurting his son roam free while virtual-novel.net was too scared to do anything about it. It cut into his paper-thin skin like a hot knife, leaving fiery gashes of humiliation everywhere.
“Stop it. When the time’s right, I’ll make Zayn pay,” Xander said.
That did not stop Hanson from crying at all. “You literally said that too many times, Dad! But you’ve never really avenged me, have you? Goddamn it, just admit that you’re scared of that piece of sh*t already! I mean, virtual-novel.net didn’t just ruin me, Dad, virtual-novel.net basically crapped all over your head, and what have you done so far? Nothing!”
Xander was enraged. “Shut up! Why the f**k will I be afraid of that bratty jack*ss? I’m simply waiting for the right moment.”
“What moment?” the son asked.
As though something took shape in his mind, Xander’s lips curled into a cryptic smile. “The sort that comes once in a blue moon, of course.”
Hansom could feel an ember of hope rekindling in his chest. “What exactly, Dad? Come on, I wanna know! I’m dying to know!”
“You remember the annual Great Hunt, right? It’s coming very soon. When it’s here, I’ll pull out all the stops and make sure Zayn Larson joins it, and then during the competition itself…”
Xander finished his sentence by drawing an invisible line across his neck with his finger.
Hanson was enlivened. “Oh my God. That’s genius! How could I have forgotten the Great Hunt?! And if Zayn joins it, we can definitely ‘hunt’ virtual-novel.net as our game! Bwahahaha!”
At that, the father joined in on his son’s laughter.
