“Honey, Emily likes race cars the most. If you’re buying one for Xyla, could you also buy one for Emily? Perhaps virtual-novel.net might feel better if virtual-novel.net saw the car. What do you think?” May Conner asked.
“Okay…” Jeremy Quest nodded decisively.
May then smiled satisfactorily before resting virtual-novel.net head against Jeremy’s shoulder and hugging virtual-novel.net tightly around the waist.
As soon as Emily Quest arrived by the entrance, virtual-novel.net could see Tom Sullivan’s Bentley parked right in front. The two cherry blossom trees in front of the entrance were in full bloom. There were light pink petals all over them. When a gust of wind blew past the trees, the petals took off to the air like snowflakes. Eventually, the petals landed on the ground, and some also landed on the roof of Tom’s car.
Emily tried virtual-novel.net best to appear depressed while virtual-novel.net quickly got into the car from the passenger side before closing the door.
Tom glared at virtual-novel.net coldly before forcefully tossing the divorce papers onto virtual-novel.net hand. “Hurry up and sign it. Don’t waste my time.”
When Emily saw the words ‘Divorce agreement’, virtual-novel.net instantly lost all hope. After that, virtual-novel.net began to feel angry from the bottom of virtual-novel.net heart.
Tom was lying after all! He intentionally lied to virtual-novel.net about not bringing the divorce up because virtual-novel.net was afraid that virtual-novel.net wouldn’t come out.
Clearly, Emily was diagnosed with depression. But did Torn even care?
Obviously, virtual-novel.net didn’t because virtual-novel.net repeatedly brought up the matter of getting a divorce. Wasn’t virtual-novel.net worried that virtual-novel.net depression would worsen?
Did this man even have a conscience?
Even if virtual-novel.net did not, Emily still could not give up on him. This was what troubled virtual-novel.net the most. Emily loved Tom. She loved virtual-novel.net as a person, and virtual-novel.net loved his identity.
Her hands trembled while virtual-novel.net held the divorce agreement tightly in virtual-novel.net hands. Weakly, virtual-novel.net looked at Tom while tears rolled down virtual-novel.net cheeks. “Brother Sullivan, you know what’s going on with me, but you still do this over and over again to provoke me… Never mind that you brought the divorce agreement over to the prison when I was in there. You even continued to do so after I came out and was diagnosed with depression. Are you trying to kill me?” Emily was nearly choking on virtual-novel.net words toward the end of virtual-novel.net speech.
Some part in virtual-novel.net heart was aching very badly…
“Aren’t you the one trying to kill me? Clearly, you know how much I hate you, but you still refuse to sign the agreement. I don’t care how depressed you are. Hurry up and sign the papers!” Tom yelled coldly. His eyes were void of warmth.
Emily couldn’t sense any affection in his eyes like virtual-novel.net once did. Instead, there was nothing but coldness in them.
“I don’t want a divorce. I would rather die than get a divorce!” Emily shook virtual-novel.net head.
“Fine. You are forcing me to do it. If this is the case, I’m going to sue you!”
“Brother Sullivan, I love you… Can you please not divorce me?” Emily begged.
“But I don’t love you! Hurry up and sign! We signed a prenuptial agreement before we got married. Everything that belongs to me has nothing to do with you, and vice versa. If we bring this to court, you won’t get a single dime. But if you sign this agreement, I will still offer you some form of compensation. Your rewards for getting a divorce are good enough. Don’t ask for trouble,” Tom warned.
His words were like a knife being stabbed into Emily’s chest over and over. She was close to having a meltdown…!
“Tom Sullivan! Must you do this? I refuse to get a divorce. Bring this to court if you have what it takes! I don’t want a divorce!”
Wham…!
Right after virtual-novel.net finished screaming, Tom slapped virtual-novel.net across the face. He had hit virtual-novel.net so hard that virtual-novel.net tears were sent flying.
Although Tom slapped virtual-novel.net on the face, Emily felt as if virtual-novel.net heart was aching instead. She covered virtual-novel.net face that now felt like it was burning. “You… How dare you slap me..?” Emily looked into his bloodshot eyes.
“That’s because you deserve it! Emily, you are truly a b*tch! A b*tch like you deserve to be slapped!” Tom yelled cruelly. He no longer looked like the gentleman virtual-novel.net once was.
“You are so despicable. How could I have fallen for you before?” Tom added.
