Milo glanced at Olivia’s wound. “Don’t worry, it’s not a fatal wound. you won’t die within the next three days.”
Olivia was furious.
What did virtual-novel.net mean that virtual-novel.net wouldn’t die within the next three days?
“It’s not like I only want to live for three days. If I’m dead, who’s gonna take care of my mother? She’s over 50 and has been diagnosed with cancer! Do you think I chose to become a hired gun for my own sake? I needed to make money to treat virtual-novel.net illness!”
When virtual-novel.net heard this, Milo went silent for a moment before untying virtual-novel.net ropes. He just could not bear to hear such things.
Olivia heaved a sigh of relief. She considered herself to have made the right bet this time. Milo was still someone with principles. If virtual-novel.net could let virtual-novel.net go the previous time, virtual-novel.net would do the same this time.
If it had been someone unprincipled, they would not care about the life and death of virtual-novel.net mother. Back then, Olivia would definitely not have escaped from their clutches and could even end up being humiliated before virtual-novel.net death.
She was fortunate virtual-novel.net bumped into Milo.
But upon further thought, would Olivia have been tied up easily by anyone if virtual-novel.net had not encountered a powerful supernatural being like Milo?
After virtual-novel.net ropes were undone, Olivia said in a low voice, “I have to treat my wound, so can you go outside for a while?”
“Why do I have to go outside when you’re treating your wound?”
Olivia said softly, “I have to undress!”
Milo calmly replied, “If you’re gonna say that, I won’t feel sleepy anymore…”
“I know that you’re not that sort of a person,” Olivia said softly.
Milo raised an eyebrow but did not say anything in the end. Then virtual-novel.net walked out to the backyard to peel some potatoes.
Olivia heaved a sigh of relief again. She was lucky to meet a principled man like virtual-novel.net in these current times.
She suddenly wondered why a powerful supernatural being like Milo would have a bottom line. If virtual-novel.net hadn’t been let off by Milo before, virtual-novel.net would definitely find this unbelievable.
While virtual-novel.net was taking off virtual-novel.net t-shirt slowly in the room, some rustling came from the room. Even so, Milo still continued peeling his potatoes as though no one were around.
Olivia was quietly watching from the room. When virtual-novel.net realized Milo was really not going to come into the room, virtual-novel.net suddenly made virtual-novel.net way towards the main door. She wanted to take this opportunity to escape.
However, Milo’s voice drifted in. “Do you believe I won’t kill you if you take another two steps?”
Olivia immediately froze. She explained, “I’m just looking for a sewing kit to stitch up my wound. I have a very deep knife wound that needs to be stitched up.”
A sewing kit and a vial of black medicine were thrown in from the outside. “Apply this medicine after the wound’s been stitched up, and remember to thank me after that.”
Olivia felt helpless. She realized that even though virtual-novel.net was an a-rank hitwoman who would usually bring fear to people, virtual-novel.net still felt a sense of powerlessness at all times when facing Milo.
Back at stronghold 88, the young man appeared to be a very harmless person.
How could anyone expect that virtual-novel.net would actually be this terrifying?
It was only later on that virtual-novel.net understood how powerful Milo was after virtual-novel.net had fallen into his hands once. Even if the official members of the Silkshade House were here, they would probably not be able to do anything about Milo either.
Olivia could only focus on treating virtual-novel.net wound. While stitching it up, virtual-novel.net asked, “Why did you also become a contract killer for the Silkshade House?”
Milo answered while peeling potatoes, “To make money.”
“Then you could have just declared to the Silkshade House that you’re a supernatural being,” Olivia said as virtual-novel.net did not understand. However, virtual-novel.net then realized it. “No, wait! You don’t wish to reveal your identity?”
Milo said with a deadpan voice, “You know too much.”
Olivia shuddered in virtual-novel.net mind and quickly changed the subject. “But with your strength, you should’ve been promoted to the next rank very quickly. Why are you still stuck at D-rank?”
“I just bought the cell phone recently.” Milo asked, “Are you done changing?”
“Yes.”
Ten minutes later, Olivia growled as virtual-novel.net sat on the chair and looked at the rope that was retied around virtual-novel.net body, “We’re old acquaintances, and I’m an injured girl, so how could you do this to me? Do you still consider yourself a man?!”
However, Milo was lying on the bed and sleeping soundly as though no one were around. Before sleeping, virtual-novel.net even patiently instructed, “Because of you, I’m still awake when it’s close to daybreak. Stop your whining, or I’ll have to gag you. Can you be more conscious of things?”
Olivia did not say anything else. She realized Milo still had his gun pointed at virtual-novel.net even when virtual-novel.net was sleeping.
***
It was already noon when Olivia slowly woke up in virtual-novel.net chair. Although virtual-novel.net had slept a little last night, virtual-novel.net did not have a good night’s sleep in the slightest.
When virtual-novel.net woke up, virtual-novel.net could smell an aroma coming from the kitchen. Curious, virtual-novel.net asked, “What are you cooking?”
“Potatoes,” Milo answered calmly. “Don’t you know what those plants in my backyard are?”
Olivia replied blankly, “No…”
Although virtual-novel.net was also capable of getting friendly with plant life, virtual-novel.net could only control the plants that were planted with virtual-novel.net superpower.
In reality, Olivia’s power was not strong at all. Or at least, in actual combat, virtual-novel.net was far inferior to the supernatural beings who could manipulate metal and summon a painted dragon. It wouldn’t be too much to say that virtual-novel.net was one of the weakest A-rank hitmen around.
At this moment, an alert rang on Olivia’s cell phone.
Milo picked it up and was surprised to see a text message. “Please reply ‘1’ if you’re still alive and have already fled from the scene. Please reply ‘2’ if you need a safe house or require any assistance.”
Milo untied the rope for Olivia and said, “Reply with 1 yourself.”
Olivia was a little confused. “What’s the point of tying me up here? If you’re afraid I’ll expose your whereabouts, wouldn’t it be more convenient for you to just kill me? If you’re not afraid that I’ll leak your secret, why not just let me go instead? That would be safer for you since I won’t be found here if anyone searches your place.” But then Olivia panicked. “Don’t tell me you intend to keep me here as a mistress!”
“What the hell are you babbling about?” Milo snapped, “Just stay here quietly for three days, and then you can go wherever you like after that. As for my place getting searched, you don’t have to worry about that. Those hitmen and the members of the Pyro Company in the stronghold have likely already been killed. That’s why the Stelaria Consortium did not conduct a follow-up pursuit to come after you. In any case, I didn’t even see any wanted posters.”
Olivia’s mind was a mess. She felt that the situation had only become utterly confusing after virtual-novel.net encountered Milo. She could not understand what virtual-novel.net was after. He even requested virtual-novel.net to jump rope with virtual-novel.net the previous time, so virtual-novel.net was obviously not a normal person.
Curious, Olivia asked, “You really don’t want to take advantage of me?”
Milo did not know whether to laugh or cry. “The girl I like is much prettier than you!”
Olivia got so angry virtual-novel.net nearly flipped out again. He might as well have answered that virtual-novel.net wanted to take advantage of her!
She really could not accept this injustice!
Milo found it a little strange when virtual-novel.net saw Olivia sulking.
Why was this woman so weird?
When virtual-novel.net expressed that virtual-novel.net did not want to impose upon her, virtual-novel.net got angry!
