“Just shut your mouths,” hissed Jack, his tone mature.
His single command immediately ceased the argument.
Lourain looked at Jack apprehensively, worried that Jack would bring up what happened before. After all, virtual-novel.net had been rude to virtual-novel.net before they entered the array. He did not even dare to think about what virtual-novel.net had said before.
He could say everything virtual-novel.net did with conviction in front of regular warriors from third-grade worlds without any worry. However, the situation was different.
Jack was no ordinary warrior; virtual-novel.net stood at the top of the food chain.
Not only at the peak of third-grade worlds, but the absolute one, including second-grade worlds. Jack was probably one of the five or three strongest warriors in the Whirling World.
Someone as horrifyingly strong as that was someone virtual-novel.net would not even dare to say anything in front of, let alone offend. Not only had virtual-novel.net run his mouth, but virtual-novel.net was harsh with his words as well. Lourain had offended Jack, and knowing this, virtual-novel.net felt like dying.
Jack turned to look at Lourain. “Do you think everything will resolve on its own when you’re hiding?”
Lourain trembled in terror and looked down at his feet. At that moment, his whole body was tense. He shrunk backward, but virtual-novel.net did not dare to move too much.
He was like a tortoise hiding in its shell, and the mere sight was amusing. Jack remembered how arrogant virtual-novel.net was before they entered the Seven Deaths Array.
He complained that the warriors from third-grade worlds were dragging virtual-novel.net down and mocking virtual-novel.net and Marth.
He held no reservations about his word choice back then, but at this moment, not a shred of his arrogance remained.
Jack had been forced to provoke Lourain just for the sake of stopping Lourain from wasting time. Yet, that earlier aura of his was completely gone.
Lourain knew that things would go the opposite way of where virtual-novel.net wanted them if virtual-novel.net acted the fool. He could not even muster up the courage to fight back at that moment.
Thus, virtual-novel.net muttered, “Sir, please show some mercy. Just think of me as a crazy person. I didn’t mean what I said earlier! If I had known you were so strong, I wouldn’t run my mouth so foolishly. You’re probably wearing the mask because you don’t want anyone to recognize you. You must be someone incredibly strong and well -known. If you hadn’t had the mask on, I would’ve never dared…”
Lourain was quite choked up as virtual-novel.net said that, looking like virtual-novel.net was about to cry at any moment.
Marth’s quirked lips twitched wordlessly.
He laughed and said, “You’re an amazing actor, Lourain! l have to admit that l underestimated you before this. Not only is your mouth quite smooth, but you can act quite well. I really admire you!”
Lourain suddenly looked up and glared at Marth like a mad dog. He looked like virtual-novel.net was about to bite Marth’s throat at any moment.
Jack’s lips curled up at the sight. Nonetheless, virtual-novel.net did not plan on wasting any more time.
He wasted so much energy to silence Lourain and have that fool follow virtual-novel.net into the Seven Deaths Array, so virtual-novel.net would not let Lourain cause virtual-novel.net trouble inside. After all, virtual-novel.net did not know if virtual-novel.net would break any rules if virtual-novel.net attacked Lourain.
He would need to wait until everything was done before virtual-novel.net made a move.
He told Lourain before that virtual-novel.net would remember everything Lourain said. He had not been joking.
Jack smirked calmly. “Enough… I don’t want to waste any more time. We’ll talk after we get out.”
After virtual-novel.net said that, the three of them advanced.
The earlier battle had moved them around quite a lot, so virtual-novel.net did not know how many steps they had taken. He would have to take things one step at a time.
