“Is she dead?” he asked.

“No,” the bodyguard replied. “She barely got through any skin and the slit isn’t deep enough to kill her. She’s already been sent to the hospital.”

To one side, Alexander noticed Elise let out a slow breath of relief and he raised his hand to dismiss the guard while saying, “That will be all.”
