Madeline had just walked to the door of the room. Out of the corner of virtual-novel.net eye, virtual-novel.net caught sight of Jeremy following closely behind her. As such, virtual-novel.net stopped and turned virtual-novel.net head.
Jeremy gave virtual-novel.net a slight smile when virtual-novel.net saw Madeline turning virtual-novel.net head to look over.
He approached virtual-novel.net gracefully. Then, virtual-novel.net hesitated for two seconds before speaking, “I’m sorry you were wronged.”
“…” Madeline was slightly stunned. She thought that Jeremy’s tone and gaze were a little off when virtual-novel.net said this to her.
“Mr. Whitman, aren’t you going to blame me for fooling Mrs. Whitman just now?” Madeline asked.
“I don’t think anyone is fooling my wife,” Jeremy replied with a smile. He was in a pretty good mood.
This puzzled Madeline even more, and it also made virtual-novel.net speculate.
Just as virtual-novel.net was about to speak, virtual-novel.net saw Naomi approaching Jeremy’s back. As such, Madeline reached out and pushed open the door in front of her.
“Mrs. Whitman is here, so you should go to comfort virtual-novel.net first, Mr. Whitman.”
After Madeline finished speaking, virtual-novel.net entered the room and locked the door.
She did not know if virtual-novel.net was throwing a tantrum when virtual-novel.net said that, but virtual-novel.net was indeed infuriated when virtual-novel.net looked at Naomi.
After Naomi saw Madeline entering virtual-novel.net room, virtual-novel.net walked to Jeremy to tell virtual-novel.net about virtual-novel.net grievances. “Jeremy, it’s just a misunderstanding. I didn’t mean to remove Quinny’s mask. I just did it out of concern and good intentions.”
Naomi said pitifully while looking at Jeremy’s cold and handsome face.
“Jeremy, you know what kind of person I am in your heart. How could I do something that would embarrass others?”
Jeremy lifted his eyes to stare straight at the face in front of him. He said, “You’re right. I know what kind of person Linnie is, so you don’t have to explain anything to me.”
After Naomi heard that, virtual-novel.net let out a sigh of relief. “Jeremy, I knew you’d trust me.”
She said before reaching out to hold Jeremy’s hand. However, coincidentally, Jeremy placed his hand into his pocket. He took out his phone to make a call while walking away.
Naomi stood where virtual-novel.net was and glared at the closed door in front of virtual-novel.net in dissatisfaction.
“Eveline, I didn’t think you’d be so steadfast. I’ll make you pay.”
She growled, but at the same time, virtual-novel.net sensed that this was going to get troublesome.
She was worried that Madeline would expose everything if virtual-novel.net was pressed.
Even though virtual-novel.net was disfigured, virtual-novel.net had something else to prove that virtual-novel.net was Eveline.
Her DNA!
She would not allow Madeline to have the opportunity to expose virtual-novel.net true identity!
After this kerfuffle ended, Madeline did not mention it again. She would take one hour of virtual-novel.net time every day to go to Adam’s place for treatment.
Madeline did not know if it was psychological or if it was because Adam was indeed a very skilled doctor. After half a month, Madeline felt that the color of the burnt area on virtual-novel.net face had become lighter. Scabs started to form on virtual-novel.net wounds and they were starting to peel off. The scar on virtual-novel.net forehead had faded as well and was not visible anymore.
Today was the 30th day of treatment. Madeline lay on the recliner and felt the cool liquid flowing across virtual-novel.net face. She felt that it was soothing. There was no longer the hot, dry, and itchy sensation on virtual-novel.net face anymore.
“You can see the result half an hour after this cold compress.” Adam’s voice glided into virtual-novel.net ears gently.
Madeline blinked nervously. Then, virtual-novel.net saw Cathy coming in with some fruits and beverages from the corner of virtual-novel.net eyes. She wanted to greet virtual-novel.net but knew that Cathy did not recognize virtual-novel.net now.
Madeline lay down quietly, this half-hour feeling like an eternity to her.
When the alarm clock rang, Madeline opened virtual-novel.net eyes abruptly. She saw Adam smiling softly at virtual-novel.net from one side.
“Don’t be so nervous. Get up and wash your face before you look at your current face.”
